I’m here in Sao Paulo still. It’s pretty early in the morning and I’m kinda freezing in this cyber cafe. I’ve got lots to tell you about yesterday. It was definetly a great experience but you will need to wait until I get back to my town to be able to download the pictures I took at MTV.

So I’ll talk to you soon

——-

Hey, pessoal,

Brazil Business Opportunities Weblog Network is hot. And so is its blogger, Cris Zimermann (who gets paid for blogging). Lately, she’s got offered $30,000 to pose nude for a men’s magazine in Brazil. And she refused.

“Of course I’m flattered and surprised! You know this is something I’ve never thought about. It’s alright when a blogger manages a nice business deal and makes some good money of it but going naked? What a proposal, it’s kind of insane! I’m not ‘zero kilometer but my body is all original from the plant’,” she laughs.

“I mean, I’m 36 years old and a mother of two. It’s a lot of exposure,” said Cris in an interview conducted by João Magalhães, a reporter for the newspaper Estado de S.Paulo and owner of the Reporter Net blog.

But Cris also told Mr Magalhaes that she’s open to a better proposal. “If they double the $30,000 I might think about it. There’s a lot to be considered when you’re not a Paris Hilton.”

While Cris doesn’t make her mind up, what you readers think about the subject? Should Cris pose or not? Would you dare going naked for money?

The very idea that American soldiers on leave from Iraq would see Rio’s carnival as a sex party has Brazilians outraged.

Stuff.co.nz:
A report in The Guardian newspaper that American soldiers are looking to Rio de Janeiro for rest and recreation – especially sex tourism – prompted many Brazilians to say that the foreigners have it all wrong.

Despite all the jiggling, sweating flesh on display at the weekend as crowds of dancers pressed together in the first full day of carnival celebrations, Brazilians say the spectacle is not all about sex. They see it as a celebration of the body, closer in spirit to the Olympics than to a strip bar.

Though American soldiers could hardly be seen in the crowds, Brazilians complain about those who go mainly for sex tourism, and opportunities seemed to abound along Copacabana beach.

‘If they came here from Iraq, they wouldn’t go back!’ said Brian Simon, 43, a former Marine who was surrounded by barely dressed women as he drank at an outdoor bar.

Brazilians say nakedness at carnival is about sensuality. Yes, sexual imagery abounds in the samba schools, and thousands of revellers dance skin-to-skin on the sidelines. But nudity carries a different connotation in Brazil than in many other countries.

‘Here, nakedness doesn’t only lead to sexuality, it leads you to aesthetic appreciation. A woman is dancing but it’s not pornographic. It’s a collective experience of reconsidering bodies, like at the Olympic games,’ said Roberto Da Matta, a retired sociology professor and author of Carnivals, Rogues and Heroes.

The annual Samba parade is the high point of the festival. This year, it features 13 samba groups, each producing 80-minute-long spectacles costing upward of US$1 million (NZ$1.5 million). Total nudity is prohibited and a less-than-perfect score from the exacting panel of judges can doom a group’s chances.

Most Brazilians do not duck the issue of sex. The government distributes millions of free condoms at carnival time and talks frankly about sexually transmitted diseases. Experts credit the Brazilians’ openness about their bodies and sex for helping to contain the Aids epidemic in South America’s largest country.

‘I’m entirely comfortable dressed like this,’ said this year’s Carnival Queen, Jacqueline Faria, 23, wearing little more than a rhinestone-encrusted bra and a sequin-spotted see- through skirt revealing a G-string.

‘This is Rio de Janeiro, it’s all about the beach and sun. We don’t wear many clothes here at anytime during the year,’ she said. ‘But Rio de Janeiro isn’t just about bum bum. It has lots of other culture.’

Just for a change, it’s a holiday in Brazil, All Souls Day. But today it’s also the Business Opportunities Weblog Brasil’s First Anniversary. It has been a year since I wrote the first post and become a blogger.

Today, this weblog contains 1015 posts and thousands of posts on our other blogs: Affiliate Marketing, Ask, Business Opportunities, Classifieds, eBay, Español, Franchise, Links, MLM, Podcast, Tools, Work At Home.

In only 1 year, the network doubled the number of its blogs. Now there are 13 entrepreneuship niche blogs and I would like to thank all my friends, readers and sponsors, specially Dane Carlson for the support, trusting and friendship.

What’s next?
I’m sorry if today is the Deads Day as brazilians would say but this blog is more alive than ever and it will bring you even more for the next year.

So, thank you very much for your continuous support!

———————————————————————————-

Primeiro Aniversário Do Business Opportunities Weblog Brasil

The visa application can be made in your country of residence via the local Brazilian Embassy or Consulates or in Brazil via the Federal Police (Polícia Federal).

Applying for the Visa outside of Brazil
You will receive the visa much faster if you apply in the country of your residence. Usually within two or three months the Brazilian Embassy or Consulate will issue the visa if you handed in all necessary documents and the application fee is paid. Once the visa is stamped into your passport you have 90 days to enter Brazil, and then once in Brazil a further 30 days to be registered at the local office of the Federal Police. If you do not register within 30 days you will need to pay a fine. You will find more details about the necessary documents and application fee on the official homepage of the Brazilian Embassy in your country of residence, (e.g. in the USA: http://www.brasilemb.org)

Applying for the Visa within Brazil
If you want to apply for the visa in Brazil you have to file the application at the local office of the Federal Police. The following documents are necessary:

    * passport, along with a photocopy of all pages!!!
* wedding certificate
* certificate of criminal records e.g. issued by the FBI in the USA, and often the local Police in other countries (not older than 3 months)
* prove of residence in Brazil (usually done with a phone or light bill showing your address in Brazil)
* Application form (available at the Federal Police)
* Receipt of payment for fee of R$ 53,83 (The voucher for the fee can be printed here: https://www2.dpf.gov.br/gru/gru?nac=1)

With all documents you must present the original and an authenticated photocopy, which will remain together with the application form at the Federal Police. All documents not issued in Portuguese have to be translated by a sworn public translator recognized by the Federal Police. If you do the translation in your country of residence, the documents and translations have to be legalized by the responsible Brazilian Consulate or Embassy.

When you have successfully handed all documents over and paid the fee (R$53,83) you will receive a receipt, the so-called protocolo. The protocolo shows the number of your application (processo) it‘s also a kind of temporary foreigner ID and visa, so you should keep it together with your passport.

Now you have to wait for the publication of your application. The decision will be published in the Government’s newspaper (Diário Oficial da União – DUO). There is an ONLINE-version of the DOU available on the Internet at: www.in.gov.br or www.mj.gov.br [Search in section 1 (SEÇÂO 1)] The publication in the DOU will take at least one year, usually more. I waited one year and two months and I‘ve heard about cases where people have waited five to six years! Probably the Federal Police will not send you any information about the progress of your application. So you have to check from time to time with the DOU or call the office of the Federal Police to ask about the status of your application.

Also make sure that you inform the Federal Police in case you travel abroad or within Brazil. This is very important in case the Federal Police want to get in contact with you, if you are not at home or they can‘t get in touch with you, they can cancel your application.

Once your application is published, you have 90 days to claim your Permanência at the Federal Police. If you miss the deadline (90 days) to claim your visa, the visa expires and you will have to make a new application with all the paperwork, costs and lost of time. To claim the visa, you have to present the Protocolo and a copy of the DOU that published your visa. You can buy a copy of the DOU at the local office of the Imprensa Nacional or you can buy an authenticated Xerox of the page where your process is published.

You can track the progress of your application ONLINE at: http://www.mj.gov.br/sistemas/EstrangeiroWEB/index.asp

Visa Expiry
By law the Permanent Visa will expire if you leave Brazil for more then two years. Usually there is no problem leaving Brazil for a period of three months or even more. In case you should stay outside Brazil for one year or more, you should check the status of your Permanência after your return, to avoid any problems in case it has been cancelled.

¹ That means the other parent of the child is a Brazilian citizen (you do not have to be married) or the child is born in Brazil, because everybody born in Brazil automatically has Brazilian citizenship.
² You have to invest the money into a business or a company (Buying real-estate, if it’s not for commercial use, will not qualify) and employ about 10 Brazilians. Buying a house or an apartment does not qualify for a permanent visa.

Brazil’s leftist president faces a runoff for a second term after voters denied him an outright victory Sunday amid last-minute allegations his party engaged in a scheme of electoral corruption and dirty tricks.

The Oct. 29 runoff was announced by election authorities after 98% of the vote had been counted, with President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva getting 48.8% compared to 41.4% for the center-right Geraldo Alckmin, Sao Paulo state’s former governor.

It was a stunning defeat for Silva, after polls less than a week ago predicted him trouncing Alckmin with 59 % of the vote – far more than the 50% plus 1 vote needed to win the contest in the 1st round. Read more.

Virtual Entrepreneur:
Brazilian blog Kibeloco has come up with a few ad campaigns which could take advantage of Daniela Cicarelli’s sex video which hit the internet this week. From noodles to sun tan lotion, the truth is that Cicarelli managed to get the whole Brazil intrigued about having sex in the sea. Will that become a trend?
I guess not Mr Money just told me it’s not something new…
he’s done that 30 years ago!

And still on the topic, brazilian newspapers today reported that the couple may sue all the sites which published the video for moral damage. Now what a way of making money! Make sex on the beach, let a paparazzo film you and publish the video on the internet and then sue the ones that report it. Bingo!

Technically wasn’t she doing something illegal to begin with? Would any of you know who she is if it weren’t for this video? This is possibly the best thing that has happened to her ‘career’ after she married and separated (in within just 3 months of marriage!) from famous footballer Ronaldo.

Get an idea of the polemic subject sticking for her or not.
